Starting a new blog is harder than I thought. Setting up the blog is easy, but what am I supposed to say after setting it up? Well, when you’re meeting someone in real life, you should say hello and tell him your name. So, that’s what I’ll do.

                

Hi! My name is Shelby. Some people call me Shelbs and my best friend calls me Pascal. But, that’s a different story. Here are a few things about me you should know:

I like to call myself a writer. But, to be honest with you, I probably spend most of my writing time pinning things to my story boards on Pinterest. (*shameless plug* My username is MixedWhimsy.)

Food is on my mind almost all the time. Right now, it’s almost lunch and I’m wondering if there are anymore chips left so I can have some with leftover cheese dip.

I love cats. Like, seriously love them. Other people Instagram pictures of their Starbucks and aesthetic pictures of their friends. But, I Instagram pictures of my cat laying on my bed.

I’m slightly obsessed with Owl City and may or may not have screamed at the top of my lungs when I got to see him in concert last year. My room may also have Owl City merchandise here and there. 

I'm proud to say I am a creative person. I love art. I love looking at other people's art. I love creating my own art. It's just something I've always been interested in. I also recently got into photography. Golly, it's great. My Mom got me a Nikon d90 for Christmas and I go everywhere with it. It's practically my child.

When I was around ten years old, I loved to play a kid's piano keyboard. I dreamed about becoming a professional pianist as I played "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" alone in my room. Well, I'm not a professional, but I've been playing piano (on a real piano now) for about seven years. 

I am a Christian. My family has done devotions together for as long as I can remember. My faith is smaller than a mustard seed, but I trust The Lord with all my heart and love him very much.

I once dressed up as Fili the dwarf, beard and all, to go see Battle Of the Five Armies in theaters. That's just goes to show you how dedicated I can be.

Well, that's enough about me. Now, for the blog.

Recently, I’ve been having these urges to write about my life and what I think about it, but where could I share it? My story blog didn’t seem like the appropriate place, so here I am! Welcome to my new blog, Mixed Whimsy!

This is a magical place where I will share with you happenings in my life and my thoughts on things. I hope to encourage anyone who happens upon this blog and reads my posts. My goal is to show everyone that life is not perfect, but we can grow stronger through our difficulties. Learn to enjoy this mess of a life, then it can be your beautiful mess.
